Free use

Every VizDelta chart is free to embed, cite, screenshot, and reproduce — with attribution — for:

• Editorial and journalistic use — news articles, newsletters, broadcast, and social posts.
• Personal use — blogs, presentations, coursework, and social media.
• Academic and non-profit use — papers, teaching materials, and research.

Attribution means keeping the chart's byline ("Graph by VizDelta.com") intact, or — if you've removed it for layout reasons — a visible credit and link to vizdelta.com near the chart. The live embed is the easiest way to use a chart: it carries attribution automatically and always shows current data.

Commercial use

Reproducing a chart in a commercial product, a paid report, an ad-supported publication, or for resale or redistribution requires a commercial license. This covers things like: including a chart in a client deliverable or paid subscription product, republishing on a commercial data platform, or bulk/API use in a business tool. Email hello@vizdelta.com — we'll get back to you quickly with terms.

The underlying data

The chart image and design are VizDelta's own work and covered by the terms above. The underlying datais a separate matter and carries whatever terms its original source sets — Statistics Canada's Open Government Licence, or (for U.S. series) the Federal Reserve's FRED terms, which vary series-by-series and don't grant automatic commercial redistribution rights for the raw data itself. Every chart cites its primary source and table/vector ID so you can check the original terms directly. A chart marked "view only" in the catalog means its source data doesn't clear our own use for this policy — you can still view and cite it, but reproducing it further needs the source's own permission, not ours.

Changes to this license

If we ever change these terms, the change applies going forward — anything you've already obtained under the terms in place at the time stays licensed to you under those terms.
